- Decks are built early in the process, so that plants, mulch, and other fixtures can be built around it.
- Pergolas require to be built at a similar time because they are usually placed over concrete or a deck. They need to be structurally secured in the ground, meaning fixtures such as the posts will be placed in the ground early on. Then the beams and roofing are added at a later stage.
